It is never a good sign to have flying ants in your house especially during the winter months. However, many things can get rid of them, like using sugar and borax.

I have the same problem as D Ritter! I find the flying Ants on my tile floor in the house, in the foyer, about a foot from the door. I found about 12 and cleaned them up, sprayed Raid everywhere! About 30 minutes go by and several more appear in the same area! I cannot find were they are coming from either and I have searched everywhere. They seem to be falling from the ceiling, but I found nothing. I also found 4 on the floor in the kitchen! It had rained here in Illinois for 4 days. The only thing I can think of is that they are coming in from a skylight, however the skylight is NOT over the foyer tiled area. These flying Ants are so creepy! If I find more tomorrow I am calling an exterminator!

So glad to see s article because this is my 1st time and year experiencing them and I've been in my home a year now. My neighbors said they had them last year. So glad to know they go away once the weather gets dry, but they are annoying until then and I have an exterminator coming out to spray. However I hate that I don't know where they're coming from, so I can just shut them all the way down asap.

I was having trouble with my printer. I noticed a couple dead ants on a printed page as it came out and then the cartridge jammed. I opened the printer and oh my! It was filled with ants and their white eggs! I took it outside immediately and hosed it down with water and then went to the store for ant spray. I sprayed it and let it drip dry. No more ants in the office, but then we noticed about 5 days later a swarm in the bedroom above the bed in the light fixture, and under a couple of my husband's tee shirts on the top of the dresser. We have lived here 28 years and NEVER has this happened before. Seriously, do we need an exterminator or will they eventually go away?

I just had drywood termites in my living room, and I thought, in my Florida room. When Terminix came to see them, they said those were termites in the living room, but flying ants in the Florida room. The termite wings fall off, and there is a large collection of wings on the floor and on the couches and on the window sills iin the living room. The flying ants are dead, but I've noticed them on three separate days during May, always dead and always in the same area, not near a window..

I have them in my van. Any ideas on how to get rid of them. It's not like they're just going to fly away.

I noticed them a few weeks ago. First on the kitchen floor moving around then on the blinds of the sliding door then on my countertop where we have regular ants without wings. We never had this issue with ants this bad. First time seeing flying ones though. I've found them in our bathroom in the floor and sink area. And now our bedroom even on the walls.
