I have a prolapsed hemorrhoid that may need removing. Had to go to the ER where they removed the blood clot and relieved the pain a week ago. There is no more pain now and am back to my regular normal day activities, but it is still there. What is the recovery time after getting it removed? Do you know if it would be local or general anesthesia? Thanks in advance!

I had my hemorrhoids surgery 8 days ago now and the pain when passing bowel movement is still unbearable!! Am taking the Laxative 3 times a day and 2 pain relievers every 6 hrs but it doesnt help much. I wash (Spray with shower head) wash after every bowel movement and i do get abit of relief. Most of the times am scared to fart or pass gas coz i dont know if stool will come out with it.If i knew it would be this painful i think i would never have gone thru with it. As someone said earlier,i also have 2 small grape like skin leasons still which are so irritated and are painful but my Dr told me its because he only removed the 3 big ones since its not advisable to remove more! Am eating lots of veggies and foods high in fiber and very little portions since i dont enjoy the visits to toilet. Now my question is,does anyone else here have this cramps like pain which kind of comes and goes everytime you have a bowel movement and No its not gas! I cant bear it anymore coz not even pain medication help with that.I've had it now for 3 days and it only gets abit better when i sit up!

I had traditional surgery 6 days ago and everything is ok untill i have to go to toilet.its a nightmare.i feel so much pain that my whole body starts shaking.my doctor didnt really reccomend any painkillers and when i asked him about sitz bath he said its not healthy and i shouldn't do it . So after going to toilet the only thing i can do is to scream and cry for about five minutes untill the great pain is gone . I also get this pain about every 2 minutes that feels like an electric shock in the area and its immediately gone. Before the surgery everyone told me that i was going to be in pain for about 4 days and it will all get easier after that, but thats obviously a lie. I wish i had done more research about the surgery before i gone through with it, i feel like i have no strength left in me. Hope this is all over very soon

Hi. I just had my hemarrhoid operation 12 hours ago. i had internal and external. i am home and feel fine. ok, i have not had a bowel movement as yet, but im barely bleeding from the surgery and feel really quite good. I have Flagy which iv'e now had my second tablet. the pain and suffering i had to endure for over 25 years (idiot) was at times so overwhelming i dont understand why i took so long to have the operation. no doubt i will be in massive pain once i have a movement. so the jury is still out for me

Had a Ferguson procedure 5 ddays ago. Have been at work in the office the last couple days. Eating high fiber, salads, whole grain rice, papaya, banana, lots of water and coffee is ok. I have some discharge, a little blood and yellow liquid but am using gauze pads all day and night to keep clean and dry. Just fold one and ease it into the crack and it keeps pants dry. I went for a checkup yesterday and doc said all is good. A little discomfort from the stitches, but sitz baths work great. I bought a cheapo cat litter box about three or four inches deep and just set it on the cushioned toilet seat and. It works pretty good. No special pillows to sit.

I had surgery a couple days ago and the first few days have been massive in pain. I'm eating a high fiber diet but I still haven't been able to poop. When I first got home peeing was a major task and that, at least, has gone away for the most part. My question lies mostly on when can I have vaginal sex again? I've got a kid free weekend this weekend and I want to be with my man so much it hurts (mentally not physically). He is very understanding and is telling me to slow it down that we've got a lifetime ahead of us for all that but I want his touch and his hands on my body now that I won't be so self-conscious about him seeing these nasty things sticking out of my butt.

Today it's been 8 days since my hemmoroid surgery, and let me tell you that the trips to the restroom are still excruciating I cry so much, that I even feel like fainting. I've found it a little comfortable when I have a bowel movement while sitting on the siz bath with cold water, since the pain I experience is like burning sensation (not the business). Ice pack helps a lot after every bowel movement. I am just tired of feeling like this, can anybody tell me when will I be able to have a NONE PAINFUL bm or when my life will get back to normal?

I had my hemorrhoidectomy five days ago , after 6 hours from the surgery i got my bm with gas i could not hold it to reach the toilet and after it ends it start to burning feeling although i was on painkiller but it was not that bad same as the next day cause i was in the hospital , the 3rd day it was very bas feeling and pain after 3 times going to the toilet , so i start to sprinkle cold water little bit to clean my self and to relax little bit then i go set on warm water bath for 10-15 mins , it give me a lot of help , also the doctor told me to drink lot of liquids and eat high fiber food but i decreased my portions of food cause i am scared having pain ,duphalac should be taken 15 ml twice aday but yesterday i had to go to bathroom more than 4 times it was painfull for me so i decided to take it one time . Honestly , i can not stay away from cataflam that the doctor ask me to have one time daily , cause it hurt so much i even cried from the pain after my bm in the bathroom and the pain goes 2 hours after . I feel like some swelling but not big one and small bleeding still there , lol still can not set i am laying on bed all the time but i can move and walk easily thank good , still not sure when i start going to work i am on sickleave for 15 days, i hope every body will get better iand so for me , just stop eating hard food to keep the bm go smoothly.

Hi, I had my surgerye done last Mon and the doc. removed 4 haemorrhoids..... Its a day surgery and manage to pass urine before i leave the hospital. And my nightmare began when i pass motion, i cried because its extremely painful moment for me. And the feeling of passing motion will just come any moment after passing out gas...its uncontrollable at that time. The pain is still there even taking first painkiller every morning and second painkiller as a breakthrough with every 6hrs. It have been almost a week now and its still a nightmare to pass motion. Everytime after passinf motion i need to lay down and rest for few hours to recover from the swollen.
