Today is my day 8 after the surgery and I am absolutely terrified to go to wc. Even a slight gas passed makes the pain come back. The doctor prescribed me a gel (Dolokain) and told me I must massage the area every day at least 4 times. Massages are scary but I do them. Basically, I put some gel on my finger tip and poke as deep as I can, do the north-south-east-west-all around movement and finish it. The doctor did the same at H and it hurt a lot, I am a little more gentle to myself but do it more often. I am here in hope to hear that this does not last too long. I was stage IV, thrombosis, prolapse and what not... I wish all of you fast recovery, we must stay strong.

I am now on my 11th day after hemorroidectomy..first week was horrible..unbearable pain...I am in agony...and I feel I am going to die with the pain...never ending throbbing pain for seven days...while I was in the hospital the doctor gave me different types of painkillers but it did not make any difference I still feel strong pain..thank God after a week the pain got a bit less...now the pain still here but bearable...I had couple of surgeries before in the past and this is the fourth one...all in general anesthesia and hemorrhoidectomy is the most painful one. Lots and lots of sitz bath 3to4 times a day, drink lots of water, eat variety of fruits and vegetables during recovery. For some of you who wants to do this surgery, extremely painful but you can do it...just make sure you find a good doctor and trust me it's worth it at the end. There's always a sunshine after the rain! MC

I just had my hemmeriodectomy 4 days ago. I'm still in a ton of pain and I can't produce a bowel movement! I'm eating the fiber, taking mineral oil 2x a day, a laxative, and docalax pills! I'm so miserable I felt like I almost lost consciousness on the toilet an hour ago because the pain was so bad! I know I'm backed up but am terrified and I don't know what's best to do now!!

I had this surgery yesterday. I had been reading everyone's comments to try to prepare myself for what was ahead. No matter the comment, I HAD to have this surgery. I needed this nightmare over after years of pain, suffering and embarrassment. I had a prolapsed (rather long) removed. Inside and out. Maybe my doctor took his time, maybe I have a strong pain thresh hold or maybe I had prepared for the very worst pain after but I feel fine. I passed urine before leaving the hospital. I even had a BM lastnight. I have taken a shower and am drinking plenty of water. Yes, I have pain and and a uncomfortableness but NOTHING like I had prepared for. I am taking ibuprofen vs Vicodin. (scared of constipation)Thank you everyone for your comments and may you all feel relief with your pain and suffering. Good Bless.

I am a trained colonic therapist. I recommend taking Natralax 2 by Natures way, which are herbs that stimulate the urge to go. Best to take with a fiber product, like whole psyllium husks, Metamucil or Citracel. Take in water, drink quickly as it will thicken. Must drink plenty of water with these products, as you don't want the fiber to swell to much in the colon. If you don't go one day, take herb's for a few days, continue taking fiber daily until you are healed, then take as needed, to keep you regular, You can adjust amounts of these products, usually start off with smaller amount's, then work up to amount that works for you. Fiber should be used regularly and herbs as needed. Try to allow your self time in the morning and not be rushed. Do not sit too long on the toilet or strain. Let these products work for you. Be sure to take magnesium capsules twice a day, approximately 400 to 500 mg. total. will relax nerves & muscles and help keep stools soft, Of course try to eat healthy! Try flushing with a squirt bottle after BM's, wipe gently. try a dab of body lotion on the toilet paper for a soothing wipe followed by a spray of witch hazel on a clean toilet paper. I had problems for many many years, and I am mostly regular now. My Husband & I put the fiber in a protein shake, good for a lite breakfast or snack. Best of Luck

I had grade IV prolapse hemorrhoid and had stapled haemorrhoidectomy to remove them under GA. There's a tiny skin tag which was left that doesn't bother. Surgeon said he could not remove it, if he did I would have problems controlling bowel movements in future. For the first 3 days the pain was unbearable that I could not sleep ( my threshold of pain is vey low) coz I feel like I kept having to go and poo there was nothing. It was just gas that was accumulated causing pressure pressing onto the operated part which made the anal hole very small and tight. I was eating fybogel that was rich in fibre hat facilitates defecation but had some side effects of flatulence. Day 4 was great mainly because I didn't have to visit the toilet much. Day 5 was the worse pain I felt with some light bleeding. Day 6 onwards felt like a normal person with minor pain every now and then visiting the toilet. I also stop pain killers on this day. Day 9-10 I first felt some itching in that area, it wasn't painful but it definitely felt uncomfortable. I understood that to be part of the healing process as the would heals. Warm Salt water baths and heat packs around that area helps. It will get better after that slowly. Good luck!

Hey guys Is there anyone who is still in pain after near 3 months of their surgery????please reply me. I had my surgery near 3 months ago and still I feel pain. I had a very bad prolapsed hemorroid and fissure. But i still feel pain and i guess it is from the place of the fissure. The doctor told me it should not take this much long and recommend me to colonoscopy!!! I am terrified to do that. Do you have any idea what i should do???thanks for your help.

I just had hemorrhoid surgery on August 26. Prior to the surgery I had no difficulties walking moving around doing every day normal activity but at that time I was in the hospital for rectal bleeding. Now that I've had the surgery I am very weak I can barely stand for long periods of time, and I have a temp of 99 to 101 and hovers around that Area. I guess I'm trying to figure out if this is normal to be this fatigued and exhausted I have been out for a week now, and I see that it can take up to four weeks to recover, but I don't have have any pain; just exhaustion and weakness along with swelling seems to be more my issue with that whole area. I still feel once in a while I need pain medication especially during dialysis. That's a whole nother issuse. Thanks in advance to anyone that has the slightest idea. P.s. I see my Primary on next Wednesday, September 7.
