Mayonnaise? Wow I didn't think about it this way. I've always used tea tree oil for head lice. Should definitely give it a try :)

I have 3 school aged kids and have had to deal with lice more than I can count. Mayo and vinegar is the best, even better than prescription, a nurse recommended to me. Leave mayo on over night, shampoo. Put vinegar on for 5 minutes rinse and comb nits come right out. But also Ovide prescription med is the only medicine that actually kills the lice.

Yea tree oil and lavender essential oil does work. Repeat every three days. Wash bed linens every day as well. I put both oils in my daughters hair. All the live one's were dead. Apply oil use a comb to make the oil saturate the hair. Put in shower cap for about 12 hrs. Use nit comb in small section of hair at a time. Double wash with shampoo then condition . Repeat every 3 days for about 2 weeks.

Which of these methods would be best on a 3 year old boy with adhd? Shower caps won't work, and he moves a lot in his sleep.

I used headrin when I caught lice. Coating it with lice repellent shampoo helps, after putting on the headrin and leaving it for around 25 minutes. When washing out the gel and shampoo, comb through your hair because it's much easier to remove the dead eggs and lice. It's been 2 days and I haven't found a sign of eggs or crawlers at all. Make sure to go through your hair daily to make sure you get out anything that may not have been affected by the headrin. It's worth paying the extra money to get rid of them.
