Indeed th bread tip helps! Took banana earlier. Didn't work. Took the bread with peanut butter, choked on it, vommited it out and the more than 1 inch fish bone came out! Thank God. I woke up as I couldn't sleep through the discomfort, prayed, took the bread and He set me free!

Thank you all so much for the comments! My sister swallowed a fish bone and was so uncomfortable for over an hour. She tried drinking water and eating pita bread but it didn't work. Finally, after reading this, she tried a whole wheat English muffin (it was kind of gooey) with some peanut butter. After about two bites she felt relief. Thank you!

Just had fishbone stuck in back of tongue. Ate bread, drank lots fluid, tried biscuits etc. After 2 hrs went to A&E, as s o uncomfortable, they did not make me feel I was wasting their time. Examined, X rayed, advised to drink lots of FIZZY drinks. Then it seemed to move. Sent to ENT dept, had a camera put down nose under local anaesthetic, and check up showed bone had moved but scratched the tongue surface. Advice given to contact GP if any sign of infection or inflammation. Now feeling fine. How can people complain about the NHS staff!!

Had a fish bone stuck in my throat for 2 days. Really painful. Tried the marshmallows and it worked. Had to eat a lot and although very painful it did the trick. Very relieved
