As gross as it sounds, spitting into a tissue works best for me. I don't know why, because tickly throats are to do with no hydration. It's late and I want to sleep so bad so thanks for this! Didn't wanna go on my phone this late but it was my last choice, glad I did! The upright thing really helped!

I've had ticke with post nasal drip. Saltwater gargle worked for about five minutes. I'm tired of drinking tea with honey and cannot handle too much sugar. Do any over the counter things work? My husband said vitamin C will help so too two Wellborn chewable tablets. Seems to help a little.

Try wearing a surgical mask to bed, the kind that gently wrap around your ears. Don't pinch the wire around your nose, or only do it slightly so you don't run out of oxygen or get claustrophobic. You can even rub some Vicks on the outside of the mask. This helps with the dry aspect as you are humidifying the inside of the mask with your own breathe so you aren't breathing in dry air. Play with the wire around your nose to get it just right where you don't feel suffocated and there's enough moisture left behind from your last breathe. It's a little uncomfortable at first but this was by far the most effective trick I have found. Taking some NyQuil along with it is about the only way to get through the night when I have these symptoms, IMO. Hope someone finds this helpful.
