This is for Lanny and all you other heartless creeps that think they are kings of the world. Cats are not the only animal that invade your space and stink up things. We have about every kind of animal in our area that does like raccoons, opossum, and most of all skunks. You have to learn to deal with them in a humane and kind way. Do unto others as you would like for them to do to you, your judgement day will come and good luck with that. It is only a natural thing for them just like it is a natural thing for us to use the bathroom, look what damage our waste has done to the land.

I have bad neighbors who enjoy feeding "free range" cats, who then poop in my yard, and leave me to cleanup the mess. It got so bad (frequent) that i went out and purchased a cattrap from Harbor Freight ($20). Using plain cat food, i have caught 9 of them in the last 3 weeks, with no end in sight. It should be noted that not one of them has had a collar or a cropped ear (signifing spayed or neutered). Thanks to the bleeding heart cat lovers society, and my local city Commissioners (who passed a law, in Las Vegas) i can no longer "dump" these wild cats off at the Shelter for humane treatment. Ya see, they want your name and address so after they fix said kitties they can return them to your property. Somehow the City thinks this will save them money and I suppose it keeps the cat freaks off their back.... Meanwhile Im back to square one. So what do i do with the cats you ask? The next town over (Henderson) still accepts cats, not from me wrong zip code, so i set them free there. Nice job Vegas.... money gets spent, nothing gets done, cats stress unnecessarily, homeowners/petowners have to deal with a new (and scared) kitty in there midst just so I don't have to wake up with animal feces on my property. If there is a god it must have total contempt for us!

@Carol: The "Do unto others" quote is referencing PEOPLE, NOT animals. Your lack of comprehension of the Bible is mind-boggling, particularly when you are using quotations (as above, and "your judgment day will come" comment) is so baffling. The point is, that people, undoubtedly like yourself, feed the birds, who then are targets of the cats, who then become prey for raccoons, possums, wild cats, tigers, lions and bears. So, yes, by feeding the birds and feeding cats and dogs, you are causing the problem of the bigger animals on your property. But, by people like you feeding these stray animals, you are not "Doing unto your neighbor, as you would have them do to you". What Jesus was ACTUALLY talking about. Not to mention, feeding stray cats is illegal in many jurisdictions.

They are nasty shit spreading lazy useless animals that procreate like useless rabbits and rodents ... Feed em poison and play stupid !!! There's your cure. All these Bleeding heart liberals with there Save the Stinky fuckin Cat association bullshit can ALL shack up together in a house in hell with all the cracks and Windows sealed up tight and lick each other til death. Kill the useless bastards and Don't tell anyone . Problem solved.

in America, where all you people are....you can get guns, i wish i could get a squirrel or rabbit gun. I live in Greece a country full of feral cats and nobody cares but you cannot get a gun which seems to me to be a good way to deal with the problem.

Let us use guns

I lived next door to the "crazy cat lady." Well, "lady" is not the right word, but I'll try not to be profane. She's been feeding every stray cat for years, keeps several inside her house, and others in outbuildings. None are ever spayed or neutered, none are every vaccinated. The city has ordinances about "nuisance cats" they don't enforce. While Animal Control will trap cats, they can't go inside her house where she hides the adults, so they only get the young ones. Her cats have done a great deal of damage to my property, and I hate to tell those of you with crawl spaces, if they kill birds, mice, moles, or other critters that carry mites and leave the "remains" in the crawl space, the mites will leave the dead hosts and enter the interior of your home. I know that because it's happened to me. Almost impossible to eradicate except by special pros (because it takes a different type of product and the whole house tented). My homeowner's insurance won't cover damage by any type of animal or insect, and that !@#$% doesn't care what horrors those damned cats cause me or other neighbors. It's her fault, but she won't accept responsibility. I don't like the cats, but it's her I really hate! I want to move, but must spend more than I can afford before I can put my house on the market, and this is not a good real estate market anyway. I'm almost at the point of just walking away and getting sued by my mortgage company--I hate living here just that much. So, yes--I'd like to know how to keep cats away, but I want to be far, far away from that crazy woman.

Please do not relocate to a farm. We don't want the cats either.

I have feral cats that come onto my porch and tear up my brand new furniture but they only are there when I am either gone or asleep i can never catch them. I have only had my furniture a week and they have scratched off the bamboo and tore the material to were the stuffing is coming out of the cushions I am totally lost.

Most of you will 'Hate Me !' ... I am one of those people who feed the feral cats, however, I'm stuck between a tree and a hard rock as they say, I hate the idea of killing one of Gods creatures, so ... I have put chicken wire up around the house and that does work, but you 'must' cover even the tinniest of holes or they'll push their way in and use your roof/ceiling as a breeding ground, true to keep all other food sources covered (Rubbish Bins ... Trash Can's to the Americans ...) this is a huge prevention measure, keep your property clean of old items that cats can shelter in from the weather or in fact place they can keep their kittens, keeping your property clean in that senses also has bonuses of not housing other creatures such as rats and snakes .... cats when they sleep, often prefer to sleep at higher levels, e.g. shelves and alike, either do away with the shelves, or keep them nicely stacked to prevent the cats sleeping their ... finally, I restrict the amount of food that I give them and strictly keep to a time frame for feeding, I rarely see the cats around my home during the day, only at feeding times and they are actually there waiting ... I average around 10 cats, the regulars tend to hiss, spit and keep the new comers away, knowing that there's only enough food for the regulars, and it really seems to work ... sorry for those of you who hate cats so much, I guess I'm the same about dogs, both immediate neighbours have dogs so 'my' cats aren't hanging around next door. I figured if I cannot eliminate the problem 100%, then meet the situation half way ...
