Hi my name is Hasinah and I am 20 years old. I haven't got my period yet. According to my doctor she said that my Fallopian tube is abnormal but there will be some fluid coming out from my vagina. There is so much misinformation and horrible advice within the comments on this article. I'm in shock. Most girls who are commenting on this are under the age of 16, and it really worries me that there are older girls (and adults) nearly spoon-feeding these young girls misinformation. Listen: if you are under the age of 16, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT WHEN YOU WILL GET YOUR PERIOD. Some girls get their period before the age of ten. Other's will get their periods at an older age. It is different for everyone. It's nothing to worry about. You will get it when you get it. My mother began at 9. I began at 11. My grandmother did not have her period until she was around 16. Despite what apparently a lot of young girls think, your period is not some glorious thing that suddenly makes you a woman. It is just a part of life, and there is absolutely no need to have your period earlier than other girls. Bleeding from your vagina is not a competition. In fact, it is terrible. You stain your clothes. You get horrible cramps, headaches, and back aches. You bloat and can't fit into your clothes properly. You feel like you're dying. Sometimes, you will wake up in a puddle of your own blood. I have personally fainted from having my period because I began to bleed internally. I have had periods that were so bad, I swear could actually feel my pelvic bones shifting as my uterus contracted. It. Is. Not. Glorious. Tampons or pads? It really doesn't matter. You have to change pads more often. I've found that women use tampons nowadays. If you want to go swimming, just use a tampon. Do not use a pad while swimming: you will bleed in the water. Tampons are NOT uncomfortable if you are a virgin. If you are wearing at tampon and it feels uncomfortable, you did not insert it properly! If you have never had sex and your period is late, do not worry about it! You're not pregnant, and you're not going to be the next Virgin Mary. When you are young, your hormones are not at all balanced. You WILL experience both early and late periods, and there is nothing wrong with it. If you have had sex and are at least two weeks late, you should definitely get that checked out. You can get pregnant at any point in your menstrual cycle! You can still get pregnant if he pulls out because sperm IS present in pre-cum. I noticed that there are a lot of girls who have commented on this that are having unprotected sex. Use some kind of contraception if you're having sex, for the love of all that is holy! Always use two forms of birth control so you have a back up. Always use a condom. Take the pill. Get the shot. Use spermicide. There are so many options available. If you aren't old enough to support both yourself and a child, you shouldn't be having sex anyway. Lastly, I can't believe I have to say this.
