HI, I'm Lawrence, 20 years old. After having some sharp pains , like I feel tightening or stabbing around my left chest area, I research immediately about the causes. I overthink maybe I have heart problems or whatsoever. Mostly this happens when I'm just laying down but sometimes the pain suddenly attacks and I find it hard to breath because it really hurts. Before, I had accident. I slipped in our toilet and bath room and my back (left side, lower rib cage) hits a pail, and after that accident, I'm having a hard time to sit with nothing to lean on. I've gone x-ray but the result is negative. Until now, I'm still having discomforts in my back(left side, lower rib cage). Does my accident before has to do with the chest pains I'm having now?

My husband he was 27 years old. He was working 12 hrs a day and tarvelling from home to office for 3-4 hours a day. From one week he was telling that he has pain from backbone to the heart. What sort of pain was it? Is it serious or pain caused due to no-rest? We are staying abroad in Bahrain. Here the medical treatment was infinitely limited. For any reason they just give a pain killer. Please suggest some natural ways to make him healthier again. Please do reply as early as possible. I don't have anyone except him.

I suffered from left side chest and arm pain for about a year. After two ER visits that couldn't find anything wrong with, and countless other dr visits, I was getting tired of everyone thinking I was crazy and that it was mental. Leading up to the pain I had some life changing events. My wife and I were expecting or first child, I got laid off and decided to finish my engineering degree. Needless to say I was stressed out for two good years before the pain all started. Anyways, my pcp finally pointed me to a myofascial therapy dr. Never heard of it before. I apparently had built up so much tension over the years that my scalenes muscle in my neck and myofascial pain disorder. It causes referred pain to the chest and down the arm to your thumb and next two digits. I was amazed after the first session. The pain went away instantly. The therapy required lydicain injections to the next to release the trigger points. I also got massages that focused on my neck and upper body. I know the neck injections seems scary, but I was desperate for relief. Dr told me he sees a lot of patients that were at ropes end and it turn their life around. It did for me. Dr said the disorder will never fully go away but is manageable. So I do a series of stretches and use a trigger point therapy stick. I recommend buying a book called Trigger Point Theropy Workbook by Clare Davies. I found my exact symptoms in that book. I wish you all the best of luck dealing with your pain and hope I was able to help. God bless.
