Use sparing amounts of peppermint oil when you have rinsed off all the soap of your shower. Do this while the shower water is still running as it will keep you warm and allow you to dilute the peppermint oil with water as you apply it to your skin (always nix with some water otherwise it's too potent). The cooling sensation from the menthol will completely stop your skin from itching every time. I suffered from horrible post shower itching for nearly a decade and finally solved the issue with peppermint oil. Haven't itched post shower for 8 months.

I have been suffering this for more than 13 years now as I have very sensitive skin. Here are my experiences.Hope it will help. 1. Showering with no sponge, but soap --> very little or no itch at all 2. Bathing with strong detergents in warm weather --> severe itch 3. Bathing in very clean environment, and clean towel and sponge --> no itch or it is very very unnoticeable 4. Bathing after severe mosquito bites during the previous night --> Severe and unbearable itch. Fill like dying 5. Cockroaches found in bath room area or in my room --> unbearable itch 6. Molds, fungi and green stuff in bathroom area --> itchy after bath 7. Bathing between 4am-5am --> no itch 8. Bathing with very cold water or in cold weather---> no itch, very pleasant These works for me: Stay away from mosquito bites, stay in clean environment, clean your bathroom, use clean towel, don't repeat clothes full of sweat, wear clean clothes, avoid cockroaches and wall gecko in your room, bath with cool water or in colder temperature, wear, for evenings take only a shower with no soap or sponge, don't let your body come into contact with strong chemicals, PLEASE STICK TO HEALTHY DIET

Have this problem since early 90s in Nigeria. Its about 23 years now. And it starts all of a sudden. Had bin in Germany since 2007 and the problem is still there. Taking bath in the morning time with or without sponge is horrible. With warm or cold water can be itching. But when I take a bath in the afternoon with sponge, it itches a bit. But without sponge, there is no itches. That is my long years experience

I have this problem whenever I am not in full control of my weight. In the past its gone up to 15 stone from 12. As I lose a few pounds the problem of intense itching lessen until after about a month it has cleared up . So if you like me are not slim give the naughty but nice food section a miss. Good luck. Keith.

Hi all, please listen carefully. if your body itches after bath with normal/warm water then you might be suffering from a rare disease in which your bone marrow is overactive & failing gradually As i am a doctor i will not disclose the disease name here. just go to any clinic or hospital & get diagnosed & start t/t dont think yourself as doctors as everyone in 2016 think as himself/herself genius & start to advice as if they are real doctors -Dr sabyasachi

I have had this condition for the most part of my life. I'm literally allergic to dirty environment, sweat or humid room. I have an unusual compulsion to ensure where I stay is clean. Although during drier season I notice the itching subsides. I came out the bathroom a while and got online after another itchy session. It's knowing that there is no certain or permanent remedy that makes it all the more annoying. I really hope my children don't inherit it. After reading through the comments, I feel a bit better knowing I'm not alone in this struggle. I'll try all the remedies one by one. I do hope they work for me, especially the drugs. I've stopped hot shower except occasionally and I'll be checking soap ingredients now. I hope we one day find a complete cure. Fingers crossed.

I am 46 years old and have had this condition my whole life. I remember begging my mom as a child to not make me bathe because I would have to use a hairbrush all over to scratch my skin. Even humidity makes me itch. Swimming pools, the beach...it's miserable. I am going to try the cod liver oil pills. Please any suggestions or anyone who has suffered like me please comment. Thank you!
