I have been having extreme pain under my ribs on the left side, moving makes it even worse and it is hard to get comfortable as it increases when lying down, coughing or breathing. My back does not hurt and it feels like someone is jabbing me and shoking me on the same spot over and over again. Can anyone help me? I've had this pain for four days and it reduces and increases during the day. I'm currently on my period but i feel normal cramps from my period but this pain is completely different and I've never had it before. It doesn't bother me when I eat or drink. I'm not nauses or have vomited but I feel like I should wait until my period ends to see what it is. What can I do?

I suffer from constipation since I was born. I am now 20 years old and for the past year I could let sleep on my left side cause it felt like my bottom rib was moving and it would just hurt. Now it's getting worse and I'm nauseous every single day with no appetite but if I don't eat it just gets worse. I feel extremely bloated even though I defecate every day. What is wrong with me? I'm so nauseous it's interfering with daily activities.

I've had sharp pain in my heart and pain on my left side at the bottom of my ribs radiating to my back under the left wing. The pain on my left side is always there and tender to the touch. The pain in my heart comes and goes. This has been going on for 2 months. I told my doctor, he touched my left side and said I had a broken rib. Since it's been 2 months and the pain isn't better, I'm going to see my doctor this coming week. I read this article and thought someone may have an idea as to what's going on? I haven't died so I guess it's not serious?

I occasionally get this dull pain near my lower rib on side/back. I notice it starts to act up when I sit uncomfortably/awkwardly and when I drive for a long period of time uncomfortably. I, in fact, have it right now and I was thinking it was because I was in the car for most of the weekend traveling and sleeping on a small couch awkwardly. It feels like its turning into my insides and poking around it or something. I don't get sharp pains or have trouble breathing though. I've been doing research today and it seems like it has nothing to do with IBS or indigestive issues because all these people's tests come out clear. So, I am just thinking it's our iliocostalis thoracis muscle acting up...?

I had pain in my left side below my rib cage for over a year. After CT Scans/Utrasounds/Barium Swallows they were unable to diagnosis the pain. Recently I was extremely stressed, not sleeping well, and then got the Flu. After I recovered from the flu I developed a rash that started on my back and wrapped around to my chest in the exact spot where my pain was. It turns out the I have shingles, and it is likely that I've had the virus for over a year but it was never strong enough to show the obvious symptom (the rash) until my immune system was weakened by stress/lack of sleep/the flu. (I live a pretty healthy lifestyle and have a decent immune system). I'm currently taking anti virals and hoping that it will resolve all of the symptoms that I've been having. I would have NEVER thought it was possible that I had un-diagnosed Shingles and it was causing all my pain until I saw the rash - but it really does look like that is the case. The pain that the rash is causing is very similar to what I've been experiencing for the past year, only more extreme - it does not feel like I would except a rash to feel - it is below the skin, 'nerve pain'. Please keep this in mind if you are experiencing this and at least mention it to your doctor. I can't believe that this was causing me pain for so long.....

OK. Mine is not really a pain. I feel some kind of discomfort in my left side under ribs cage and my stomach is always bubbling though it doesn't feel bloated or painful or tender when touched. I started noticing that 6 months ago after a vigorous massage when I had back pain after yoga exercise. No pain actually but I'm scared and that area keeps bubbling.
