God bless you all. I hope you are feeling better. I have experienced such pain as well. Took Nexium for a year under a doctor's care. He was a gastroenterologist. I am so much better now. Ya'll should seek medical help rather than suffer.

I am a 29 year old male and for the past two weeks I have been experiencing a sharp to mild pain in the lower part of my left side, just underneath my heart. The pain started when I was running at an accelerated speed to catch a bus, it would come and go when I am not moving, however as soon as I get into to bed it would get worse. Initially I felt like I could be experiencing a heart attack, as the pain is accompanied by a lightheaded feeling. The pain is also quite aggressive every time I have a smoke. I feel quite gassy most of the time and am not passing gas quite as often as I used to. My grandfather is a heart patient and this increased my concern as this might be a genetic disease. I have since started drinking quite a bit of water and ate much less. The pain has subsided, but now all i feel is pressure in the same area and not as much of the sharp pain anymore. Sometimes I wake up and have this terrible pain in my left arm and it sometimes gradually progresses to my neck and throat. I have been having trouble sleeping since the start of this pain. Please advise.

Hi All, My name is Cheryl and I'm an Aussie, I have read all your stories about this stuffn pain. Mine is so similar to Cadira. The moment I saw that word ' pop '. That is the way to describe how my pain ends up. I've had my pain for a few years now and the frequency is getting worse. Doesn't matter what I do or how I move, it's a tearing feeling and I can barely breath. I have to walk around and try to do slow breaths, I can feel my muscles tighten and then the ' POP '. I've been to the doctor many times had ultrasound, etc, we ruled out hernia, torn muscle, broken ribs, which I've had, different pain. but nothing shows. I want a MRI , but can't get one. Pretty Sure the doctor doesn't believe me. She just changes the subject now.I used to break and train horses and have broken my back twice and have crushed nerves in my neck, and trust ME this pain is worse. For the first time I got the pain driving last week, scared the crap out of me. I'm going to insist on more tests or see another doctor until I get an answer. Let you all know if I get answers.

I read it could be acid reflux or other digestive issues....but always best to check with dr. Or try changing diet away from acid. And fatty food

Iam a 28 year old male and for the past while maybe a year I have this discomfort just under my left rib cage kinda feels close to the surface. It comes and goes and isn't constant and isn't usually real bad but sometime it somewhat of a shooting pain. Does anyone have any ideas? Seems sometimes it gets worse after working hard or get tired. Don't like it and make me wonder if I should see a doctor.

Possible pancreatitis, swollen/ruptured spleen, gastritis. Ask for an abdominal ultrasound and CT scan. (I'm an RN and have this too...gallstones with lodging in the pancreas)

Hi fellowship of left side rib pain, the pressure (pain) is always present it varies from pain that literally stops you breathing to an ever present pressure that turns to stabbing pain when coughing, burping(breaking wind) or any exercise whatsoever. Sound familiar? I feel for everyone who suffers from this affliction mine started a year ago I am 44 years old I was diagnosed with pulmery embolism I received 6 months blood thinning treatment I felt great back to normal then I had severe kidney pain which was treated for 1 week as a kidney stone being passed then I had a severe attack of pain on my left side which stopped me breathing properly I was diagnosed again with a P.E. Now I am on blood thinners' for life but this pain has not gone away like last time but remains constant I know in myself this is not the same pain as before but no doctors will listen to me as they know better I've had 3 visits to the E.R, as my gp suspects that my blood clot has not broken up yet they refuse to re ct scan me or even x-ray me they diagnosed me with a chest infection which has since cleared up but the pain stays regardless now I feel lost and bitter because the doctors seem to ignore this I live in fear of the P.E. Has not broken up and will pass to my heart and I die or passes to my head when I'll take a stroke. My father took a heart attack at 38 and suffered 2 strokes and 4 more heart attacks before dying of septicaemia after broken ribs as a result of being resuscitated after a heart attack, am I over thinking this or am I right to worry?
